Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Paris held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Hommes de télévision 212 x 48,5 x 45cm (83 7/16 x 18 7/8 x 17 11/16in). by Yiannis Gaitis. The price achieved of EUR 25,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yiannis Gaitis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek Tourists At Cape Sounion in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,500.00 (€ 118,321.86).
