This artwork by Yao Hua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Chrysanthemums By The Stream sold for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,018.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. This high result makes Chrysanthemums By The Stream the most expensive artwork by Yao Hua that we have observed at auctions so far.
