This work without title by Yayoi Kusama was sold in the KusamaThe Collection of the late Dr Teruo Hirose auction at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,590,312.50 (€ 3,764,402.58), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yayoi Kusama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Yayoi Kusama wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion KusamaThe Collection of the late Dr Teruo Hirose bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.590.312,50 (€ 3.764.402,58) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
