Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hanging scroll, ink on paper by Yong Rong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 35,850.00 (€ 2,327.07). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yong Rong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scholar’S Rock in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 79,280.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hanging scroll, ink on paper von Yong Rong im April 2004 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 35.850,00 (€ 2.327,07) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yong Rong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scholar’S Rock im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 79.280,79).
