This artwork by Zarina achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Mumbai in November 2018. In the Boundless: India auction, the work Wall sold for INR 1,437,500.00 (€ 18,154.42) - well above the upper estimate of INR 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zarina achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tasbih (Gold) in March last year with an auction result of USD 365,400.00 (€ 329,396.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zarina erzielte im November 2018 bei Sothebys in Mumbai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Boundless: India wurde die Arbeit Wall für INR 1.437.500,00 (€ 18.154,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von INR 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zarina erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tasbih (Gold) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.400,00 (€ 329.396,92).
