Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lychees and Cicada / Sparrow on a Tree by Zhao Shao'Ang was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 56,700.00 (€ 6,560.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhao Shao'Ang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Peacock And Red Persimmon in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 8,045,000.00 (€ 920,748.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lychees and Cicada / Sparrow on a Tree von Zhao Shao'Ang wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 56.700,00 (€ 6.560,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhao Shao'Ang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Peacock And Red Persimmon im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.045.000,00 (€ 920.748,05).
