My work is a dynamic search for formal language that is always open to contradiction and change. It is also a way of reflecting on how to paint.
I have developed two main lines of work, one from improvisation and abstraction, the other from photos of urban situations, as a basis for the transformation of form and freedom of colour. My current work, close to the abstract, is basically inspired by natural landscapes. The series „escape from the landscape“ is precisely the formal distance and abstraction from ideas of landscapes that have an importance for me.
I do this work in an atelier in the historic warehouses of Hamburg, Speicherstadt.
I have exhibited mainly in Germany, in art spaces in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne as well as other solo and group exhibitions in other places. For more information, please visit my webseite and Instagram.
