I CANNOT NOT PAINT

I CAN NOT NOT PAINT

Even after completing my Abitur, studying German literature, working in advertising agencies, and raising three children, painting has remained my most faithful companion – and my calling.

Because I love it and simply cannot help but dive deep into the essence of beauty to make it visible to us in the outer world.

Since returning from Hamburg to my hometown of Münster in the mid-1990s, I've been working as a visual artist.

For many years, my work was firmly rooted in abstract expressionism. Over time, I've gradually let go of all figurative associations and moved toward the principles and pull of Color Field Painting:

Layered with depth, the color surfaces condense into areas of concentrated energy. Flowing softly into and over one another, they create an interwoven, radiant field of captivating intensity — designed to offer us what we all need: LIGHT. JOY. ENERGY.

Each painting is the result of a long, challenging process — and those challenges are essential in bringing out its depth and radiance.

In addition to exhibitions, commissioned work is a core part of my practice. Entering other people's living or work spaces inspires me. It reveals what both people and spaces truly need — especially in these times:
Confidence.
Strength.
Calm.
