Exhibition "(In)Security / 2024

Security - the absence of fear, anxiety, and doubt - is a state we spend our entire lives pursuing. We seek a secure home, a secure relationship, a secure future. Yet we rarely stop to ask whether true security is ever attainable, or whether the feeling itself is the only thing we can hold on to.

In our attempt to protect every fragile part of ourselves, we wrap our lives in layers of caution. We smooth the edges, guard our wounds, and build an invisible bubble meant to shield us from anything sharp еnough to hurt. But the more defenses we raise, the more delicate we become.

Perhaps real security doesn't come from avoiding every danger, but from allowing ourselves to confront it - to be wounded, to heal, to strengthen. Only by facing what threatens us do we learn resilience. Only by breaking do we discover how to remake ourselves.

This exhibiton reflects on the paradox of safety: the idea that true security lies not in perfect protection, but in the courage to endure, recover, and grow into a state where nothing can truly harm us.https://kristinavatova.blogspot.com/p/exhibition-insecurity.html

Exhibition "In search of new worlds" / 2023

In the dynamics of the times we live in, more and more people are asking themselves the questions "Is this the world I want to exist in?", "Can I change something?", "Should I be part of this society?", "Who creates the rules and who imposes the norms of behavior?", "Do I agree with all this...?". Asking oneself these questions, one cannot help but start looking for the answers...

The exhibition "In Search of New Worlds" shows a different reality, people who seek the truth on their own, without trusting media propaganda and public opinion. This is a story about the nomadic way of life, about underground culture, about the free parties of free people. It doesn't matter who you are, where you are from and what you look like... there are no rules here! It is the different "colors" of the people around us that create the picturesque picture of our own lives.

Living for nearly 3 months without a roof over my head, without a door to lock, without walls to limit my view, I managed to open my senses to a new way of perceiving what was happening around me. I expanded the boundaries I had set for myself, broke the barriers I had built, and felt freedom in the full sense of the word. But don't get me wrong... This is not utopia! It is more of an escape from reality, when the world you live in is simply not enough for you. A journey in the literal and figurative sense, which aims to find yourself first and foremost, and then like-minded people to share it with. The journey is just beginning...

Exhibition "Talk to me..." / 2018

Exhibition emerges as a necessity — an attempt to give form to states that are difficult to name. It brings together “moments of almost accidental inspiration” — brief inner flashes that leave a trace, yet rarely find space in everyday conversation.

This is a space for the things you are ashamed to say out loud. For those you don’t know how to articulate. And for those you have no one to tell. Instead of words — a line. Instead of explanation — an image.

Through everyday objects, fragments of dreams, and liminal experiences, personal narratives unfold without seeking certainty. They exist quietly — somewhere between the real and the imagined, between what is seen and what is withheld.

The decision for this exhibition comes as an opportunity for expression here and now — without predefined frames, in counterpoint to a life woven from rules. The solo format allows complete freedom, but also carries responsibility — to define the boundaries, or to choose not to have any at all.

The space is not merely a backdrop, but part of the works themselves — every corner can be inhabited and transformed into a natural extension of the drawings.

This is not a story. It is an invitation to shared silence.https://kristinavatova.blogspot.com/p/exhibition-i-2018.html
