Duration explores time not as a linear progression, but as something that accumulates in layers, lingers, and leaps. In the works of this exhibition, the landscape becomes a place where past, present, and future coexist simultaneously.

The exhibition consists of large-scale mixed-media paintings in which time appears through reflections, layers, and fractures. Some works are built through long intervals and gradual development, while in others change takes place between images, leaving the viewer to perceive and interpret what has occurred.

The exhibition addresses not only the relativity of time but also the constant presence of change: the process of decay begins from the very first moment. Poikonen is particularly fascinated by sand and ice as elements—materials capable of forming vast structures while remaining extraordinarily fragile at the same time.
