Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Month Of January by Abel Grimmer was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 161,000.00 (€ 140,721.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abel Grimmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dix mois de l'année in November last year with an auction result of EUR 1,538,400.00.

Die Arbeit The Month Of January von Abel Grimmer kam im April 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 140.721,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abel Grimmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dix mois de l'année im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.538.400,00.
