In September 2020 Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction The Sporting & Wildlife Sale, which included the work Shot Grouse on the Moors by Abel Hold. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,437.50 (€ 3,790.40), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abel Hold - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape with Cows and Peasants, which sold at auction in January 2001 for USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,148.26).

Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion The Sporting & Wildlife Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shot Grouse on the Moors von Abel Hold zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.437,50 (€ 3.790,40) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Abel Hold mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape with Cows and Peasants beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für USD 14.100,00 (€ 15.148,26) versteigert wurde.
