Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work From My Photo Album - Ii by Abir Karmakar for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,339.73). This price was achieved in the auction The Amaya Collection Modern and Contemporary Indian Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Abir Karmakar have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2007 by the work In The Old Fashioned Way 2 at USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,752.10).
