Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Self Portrait in 1945 by Adrian Ghenie for HKD 10,650,000.00 (€ 1,264,383.56). This price was achieved in the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 11,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Adrian Ghenie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pie Fight Interior 12 in May last year with an auction result of HKD 81,060,000.00 (€ 9,623,561.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Self Portrait in 1945 von Adrian Ghenie für HKD 10.650.000,00 (€ 1.264.383,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 11.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adrian Ghenie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pie Fight Interior 12 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.060.000,00 (€ 9.623.561,64).
