In June 2020 Christies in London held the auction Out of Office: Art that Transports, which included the work A young groom holding the tether of a black stallion by Aelbert Cuyp. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,519.90), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aelbert Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 2,866,000.00 (€ 3,079,071.77).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Out of Office: Art that Transports durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young groom holding the tether of a black stallion von Aelbert Cuyp zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.519,90) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aelbert Cuyp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.866.000,00 (€ 3.079.071,77).
