Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Lady, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Black Dress With A White Ruff by Aelbert Cuyp was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 34,375.00 (€ 24,518.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aelbert Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Dordrecht from the end of the Papendrechtse bank of the river Noord in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 2,866,000.00 (€ 3,079,071.77).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady, Seated Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Black Dress With A White Ruff von Aelbert Cuyp kam im Juni 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 24.518,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aelbert Cuyp erzielen.
