Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two studies for an early martyr attacked by lions; and The Holy Family: design for a lunette by Agostino Ciampelli was sold in the OLD MASTER DRAWINGS - CSK auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,620.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agostino Ciampelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A soldier carrying a ladder, and a subsidiary study of a man holding a torch ( recto ); Faint fragmentary study ( verso ) in September 2016 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,527.25).

Die Arbeit Two studies for an early martyr attacked by lions; and The Holy Family: design for a lunette von Agostino Ciampelli wurde im Dezember 2000 in der Auktion OLD MASTER DRAWINGS - CSK bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.620,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Agostino Ciampelli erzielen.
