Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Evolution of Man by Ahmed Mater was worth GBP 100,800.00 (€ 116,804.18) to a buyer in November last year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part I at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ahmed Mater; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Magnetism (Triptych) sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of GBP 189,000.00 (€ 219,963.46).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ahmed Mater; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Magnetism (Triptych) im Juni diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 219.963,46).
