Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pumpkins at the Well by Alan Stenhouse Gourley was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 352.50 (€ 510.64). Other works by Alan Stenhouse Gourley have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2005 by the work An Eastern Street Scene at GBP 576.00 (€ 846.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pumpkins at the Well von Alan Stenhouse Gourley im März 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 352,50 (€ 510,64) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Alan Stenhouse Gourley wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2005 die Arbeit An Eastern Street Scene mit GBP 576,00 (€ 846,22).
