Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 2,175,000.00 (€ 1,828,038.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Bierstadt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Indians Spear Fishing, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 7,321,000.00 (€ 4,705,012.85).
