Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sleeping muse by Albert Spethmann was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 359.02). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Spethmann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Der Hirtenjunge, which sold at auction in January 2013 for EUR 1,032.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sleeping muse von Albert Spethmann im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 250,00 (€ 359,02) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Spethmann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Der Hirtenjunge beobachtet, die im Januar 2013 für EUR 1.032,00 versteigert wurde.
