In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work An old woman at a table of vegetables with a maid, in a doorway by Alexander George Fraser. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,528.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander George Fraser - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Widow, which sold at auction in August 2007 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,869.58).

Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis

Im September 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit An old woman at a table of vegetables with a maid, in a doorway von Alexander George Fraser zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.528,80) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander George Fraser mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Widow beobachtet, die im August 2007 für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.869,58) versteigert wurde.
