Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,708.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Alexander Leggett have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2003 the work Saved from the wreck was auctioned for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 3,313.93).

Die Arbeit The Crofter's Home von Alexander Leggett kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.708,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
