Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Burning Weeds by Alexander Mann was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,648.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexander Mann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gleaners in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 113,416.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Burning Weeds von Alexander Mann wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.648,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Mann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Gleaners im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.700,00 (€ 113.416,76).
