The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,500.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Madame Recamier (1777–1849), Seated In A Classical Interior in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 54,050.00 (€ 62,552.60).

Die Arbeit Don Juan et Leporello rencontrent la statue du Commandeur au cimetière von Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Dessins anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.500,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Madame Recamier (1777–1849), Seated In A Classical Interior im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.050,00 (€ 62.552,60).
