In October 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work A Quiet Corner of The Farm by Alexandre Gabriel Descamps for GBP 131.45 (€ 189.19). This price was achieved in the auction AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexandre Gabriel Descamps - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grec Vu De Dos (Recto), which sold at auction in October 2009 for EUR 496.00.
