This work of art by Alexandre-Thomas Francia could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work Returning with the day's catch changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 253.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre-Thomas Francia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Loch Katrine in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
