Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cutting-Out, on the Doorstep by Alfred H. Green was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 378.00 (€ 444.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred H. Green achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Medway, Early Morning in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,579.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cutting-Out, on the Doorstep von Alfred H. Green im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 378,00 (€ 444,68) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred H. Green erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Medway, Early Morning im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 13.579,52).
