Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART AND DOGS, which included the work Tom Firr, Quorn huntsman by Alfred Wheeler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,377.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Wheeler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 9,799.00 (€ 15,344.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART AND DOGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tom Firr, Quorn huntsman von Alfred Wheeler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.377,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Wheeler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Diamond Jubilee with jockey up by a post beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 9.799,00 (€ 15.344,73) versteigert wurde.
