Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection, which included the work Iris by Alma Lavenson. The price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,739.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alma Lavenson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iris von Alma Lavenson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.739,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alma Lavenson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 58.750,00 (€ 69.231,68).
