Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saint Augustine enthroned with Saint Anthony Abbot and another saint by Andrea Previtali was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,544.32). Admittedly, works by Andrea Previtali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Rest On The Flight Into Egypt in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saint Augustine enthroned with Saint Anthony Abbot and another saint von Andrea Previtali im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.544,32) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrea Previtali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Rest On The Flight Into Egypt im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
