Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flat frozen snow slab arch collected from around cherry trees, Izumi-Mura, Japan, 25 December 1987 by Andy Goldsworthy was sold in the Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction auction at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,129.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Goldsworthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
