Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Stone Splash, Scaur Glen, Dumfriesshire by Andy Goldsworthy was sold in the The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,024.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andy Goldsworthy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Stone Splash, Scaur Glen, Dumfriesshire von Andy Goldsworthy wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.024,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andy Goldsworthy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 41.763,69).
