In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which included the work Diana Ross, 1981 by Andy Warhol. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,490.39), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen

Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Andy Warhol at Christie's Sold to Benefit the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diana Ross, 1981 von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.490,39) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
