Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Vue de la ville Valette prise du Palais Bighi by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,933.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2005 the work An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a was auctioned for GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,573.65).
