Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900, which included the work A view of Windsor Castle and The Long Walk from Snow Hill by Anthony Devis. It changed hands for a price of GBP 945.00 (€ 1,128.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Devis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Windsor Castle and The Long Walk from Snow Hill von Anthony Devis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 945,00 (€ 1.128,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Devis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 13.113,28).
