This artwork by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2016. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Portrait Of Mary Emma Jones, Study For Lucrezia Borgia sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,558.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British love'S Shadow im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 494.500,00 (€ 343.976,07).
