Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Abstract by Anthony Whishaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 299.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Whishaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Still Life in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,045.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract von Anthony Whishaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 211,50 (€ 299,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Whishaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue Still Life im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.045,26).
