Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Venetian backwater by Marc Aldine. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,356.46). Admittedly, works by Marc Aldine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Venetian canal in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 65,307.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venetian backwater von Marc Aldine zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.356,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Aldine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Venetian canal im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 65.307,73).
