Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Le 15 Aout (15th of August) by Antoine Malliarakis Mayo for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,481.62). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Malliarakis Mayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Egyptian ismailia, Le Marché Arabe (Ismailia, The Arab Market) in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 84,047.74).
