The work Travelers on the Via Appia by Anton Romako was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 52,920.00 (€ 49,315.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anton Romako; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Austrian ungarischer Bauernhof (Hungarian Farm) sold at auction in June 2010 with the realized price of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 59,892.58).

Die Arbeit Travelers on the Via Appia von Anton Romako kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 49.315,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anton Romako; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Austrian ungarischer Bauernhof (Hungarian Farm) im Juni 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 59.892,58).
