Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Rome, A View Of The Forum With The Campo Vaccino, The Church Of Santa Francesca Romana And The Colosseum by Antonio Joli. The price achieved of USD 230,500.00 (€ 176,236.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Joli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Capriccio With The French Ambassador Approaching The King Of Siam’S Palace In A State Barge, In October 1685, Featuring The White Porcelain Pagoda, From Nanjing, China, On The Left in October last year with an auction result of USD 3,300,000.00 (€ 3,321,924.70).
