chiaroscuro woodcut printed from three blocks in black, bluish grey and ochre, 1722, on laid paper, without watermark, a very good, strong impression of this very rare print, with narrow to thread margins, with the remnants of a gilt borderline at the sheet edges, a couple of short tears at the sheet edges, otherwise in very good condition

This artwork by Anton Maria Zanetti I achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work A Winged Genius sold for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,837.44) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Anton Maria Zanetti I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le gemme antiche. Aemmae Antiquae. in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,068.56).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anton Maria Zanetti I erzielte im Januar 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit A Winged Genius für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.837,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anton Maria Zanetti I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le gemme antiche. Aemmae Antiquae. im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.068,56).
