Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grail, Kingdom of Fife by Archibald Kay was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,333.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Archibald Kay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work South Queensferry, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,452.15).
