Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in New York held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Green Plovers; and Oyster Catchers by Archibald Thorburn. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,025.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Archibald Thorburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grouse in flight in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 264,196.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Green Plovers; and Oyster Catchers von Archibald Thorburn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.025,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Archibald Thorburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grouse in flight im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 217.250,00 (€ 264.196,22).
