Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Creuze by Armand Guillaumin was sold in the Modern Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 12,350.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Armand Guillaumin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chemin À Damiette in March 2014 with an auction result of EUR 325,500.00.
