Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage: Deux nus, bicyclettes, trois bateaux au fond by Armando Morales was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,095.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Armando Morales achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cuatro Bañistas En Canal De Plantación in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 982,000.00 (€ 929,748.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage: Deux nus, bicyclettes, trois bateaux au fond von Armando Morales im Juli 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.095,97) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Armando Morales erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cuatro Bañistas En Canal De Plantación im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 982.000,00 (€ 929.748,15).
