Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Munna Apa'S Garden by Arpita Singh was worth USD 506,500.00 (€ 372,399.09) to a buyer in September 2010. This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Art at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arpita Singh; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Woman Plucking Flowers sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).
