Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work The Artist in his studio, believed to be Frank Otis Small by Arthur Frank Mathews. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 10,134.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Arthur Frank Mathews have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2021 the work Study of a Lady in Ochre Seated with Green Dress was auctioned for USD 19,062.50 (€ 16,154.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Artist in his studio, believed to be Frank Otis Small von Arthur Frank Mathews zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 10.134,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Arthur Frank Mathews konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im August 2021 die Arbeit Study of a Lady in Ochre Seated with Green Dress für USD 19.062,50 (€ 16.154,66) versteigert.
