Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lost in thought by Arthur Spooner was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in December 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 705.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Spooner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Fair, Nottingham in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 218,050.00 (€ 324,523.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lost in thought von Arthur Spooner wurde im Dezember 2009 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 705,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Spooner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Goose Fair, Nottingham im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 218.050,00 (€ 324.523,71).
